Wild....Beeeee

These are a variety of Bee called Kanaja in Kannada. They are usually in a group of 20 to 30 bees. And their bite is .... very ...very painful, and their honey is very tasty it seems and some say that it is very good for health too.....

These bees usually build their hive in a plant..... and this one was also in a plant in my in-laws' garden......

There were more than 100 butterflies  in this area. I was soo excited and  literally dumbstruck, that I really forgot that I had a camera in my hand and it on too....

By the time I regained my senses, most of the butterflies had flown away....

Except for the last photo, you just have to look closely if you really want to see the butterflies.....

Ant House

Yes!! These are Ant Houses :)

If you look closely, you can see the red ants in the photos.....

I didn't dare go too near and click photos since these ants were moving about anywhere and everywhere....

And if you get a teeny weeny bite from them you will not forget them for a loong time....

In the Malenadu region of Karnataka, some tribes of people make a chutney of these ants with chillies, salt and lemon and eat them. They believe that these are good for health.....
